Suggestions for assigning course modules to students
These suggestions relate to the assignment of modules and activities for independent completion by students. The next section provides suggestions for integrating material within live class sessions.
Orientation to OccupationalFormulation.com mini course
It is recommended that learners complete the Orientation to Occupational Formulation mini course (15 minutes) prior to commencing the Introduction to Occupational Formulation course. This mini course provides orientation to the features of the website, member dashboard, and how to navigate courses and participate in community discussion forums. Definitions are provided for key words used throughout the courses.
Introduction to Occupational Formulation course online modules and workbook
While the online course modules may be viewed on a mobile device, use of a laptop or desktop computer is recommended to support completion of the pdf workbook activities. Alternately, students could print the workbook to use if viewing the course on a mobile device.
Use of the workbook is essential for understanding and engaging with the video lessons.
Assigning modules and activities
It is recommended that instructors complete the Introduction to Occupational Formulation course prior to finalising their plans for how to use the materials with students.
For an introduction to occupational formulation and TICKS goal setting, guide students to complete Modules 1-4.
To introduce occupational formulation only, without inclusion of TICKS goal setting, guide students to complete Modules 1-3.
The Learning activities and Additional learning activities may be assigned for students to complete individually or could be integrated into class sessions (refer to the section “Integrating activities into class sessions”).
