Designed for students of occupational therapy, this short course provides an introduction to occupational formulation and includes learning activities and resources to start using the approach during assignments or practice education. It is estimated to take approximately 2.5 hours to work through the online modules (videos & workbook tasks); additional time may be required for completion of learning activities.

This module provides an introduction to occupational formulation and its place within the practice process.

Module 2: Components of occupational formulation

Module 2 takes approximately 40 minutes to complete.

This module presents the three-part structure of an occupational formulation, focussing on the components used in the MOHO-based approach. An example is used to demonstrate the content and format of each section.

There are workbook tasks to be completed while watching the video.

This module introduces Parkinson & Brook's (2021) approach to negotiating measurable occupational goals and planning therapy following development of an occupational formulation.
